[서울=뉴시스] 백영미 기자 = 경희대병원은 소화기내과 장재영 교수가 건강보험 발전과 건강검진을 통한 국민의 건강 수준 향상에 이바지한 공로로 보건복지부 장관 표창을 받았다고 14일 밝혔다.

장 교수는 대한소화기내시경학회 내시경질관리위원회 이사로서 국가 건강검진의 신뢰성 향상을 위해 국립암센터, 국민건강보험공단과 함께 3, 4주기 국가 암검진, 위암·대장암 내시경학 분야 평가 지표 개발 및 평가를 담당했다.

또 국가암관리위원회 산하 암검진 전문위원회 위원으로 내시경 관련한 소독과 진정 지침 개발에 초기부터 참여해 국가 암검진 사업의 질적 수준을 향상시키고, 국민건강보험 보장성 강화를 위해 힘써온 공로를 인정 받았다.

장 교수는 “한국인에게 발병률이 가장 높은 위암과 대장암은 정기적인 내시경 검사를 통해 조기에 발견하면 쉽게 치료할 수 있다”며 “국가 암 검진 사업의 확대로 더 많은 분들이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 더욱 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

장 교수는 경희대병원 소화기내과 진료과장, 동서건강증진센터 센터장을 맡고 있으며 내시경을 이용한 국가 암검진 사업의 발전을 위해 애쓰고 있다.

It is reported that Jaeyoung Jang, professor of gastroenterology at Kyunghee University Hospital, received commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare for his great service to develop public health by advancing health insurance and checkup.

He was honored as contribution to improve the quality of ‘National Quality Indicators for Cancer Screening Endoscope Project’ by getting involved from the initial stage, engaging as a board member of Cancer Screening Committee under The National Board for Cancer Control, and reinforce the guarantee of the National Health Insurance.

He remarked “Cancer of stomach and colon, whose incidence is mostly high in Korean, could be easily cured with early detection by having regular endoscopy. I’ll make more effort for more public to have benefit via the extension of the National Cancer Screening  Project.”

Meanwhile, Professor Jang tried to improve the National Cancer Screening project by endoscopy, taking charge of positions such as the chairman of the department of gastroenterology, the chief of the International Healthcare Center at Kyunghee University Hospital, and the director of Quality Indicators for endoscopy, Korean Society of Gastroenterology Endoscopy.
